How many times have you said to yourself “I wish it didn’t hurt to do this job?”
Have you heard your employees or coworkers complain of discomfort with their neck, back, shoulders, arms or hands while they are at work?
“All I do is sit at a desk and use a computer, so why am I hurting?”
“I know I am probably lifting this the wrong way, but so far it’s not bothering me, so I guess I’m alright.”
Does any or all of this sound familiar?
If so, there is no one more qualified to address these problems than a physical therapist. Everyday, physical therapists educate patients about how their bodies work and how to care for the working body. This knowledge is applied to the workplace to help prevent injuries and keep people comfortable while they are working. Work injury prevention is what we do!

By applying their expertise in workplace settings, physical therapists can help employees stay comfortable and productive throughout their workday. Whether it’s adjusting workstation setups, teaching proper lifting mechanics, or guiding employees through injury-prevention exercises, their interventions make a significant impact on long-term health. A proactive approach to ergonomics and movement can prevent unnecessary pain and improve overall well-being.
Work injury prevention isn’t just a service—it’s our mission. Every day, physical therapists empower individuals to take care of their bodies and work safely. By making simple adjustments and developing healthier habits, employees can stay pain-free and continue performing their best without the risk of chronic discomfort or injury.
How many times have you said to yourself “I wish it didn’t hurt to do this job?”
Have you ever noticed employees or coworkers complaining about discomfort in their neck, back, shoulders, arms, or hands while working? Many office workers wonder why they experience pain despite only sitting at a desk and using a computer. Others acknowledge improper lifting techniques but assume they are fine as long as they don’t feel immediate discomfort. These minor aches and pains, if ignored, can develop into more serious conditions over time.
If any of this sounds familiar, it's essential to address these issues before they escalate. Physical therapists are uniquely qualified to help identify and correct movement patterns that contribute to workplace discomfort. They understand how the body functions and educate individuals on proper ergonomics, posture, and lifting techniques to reduce strain and prevent injuries.
