Insurance companies are trying to control costs, for themselves as well as trying to keep your out of pocket costs as low as possible.
However, across the board, patients are seeing their co-pays increase, and we’re seeing co-pays across the board increasing from the cost of a late to anywhere between $50 and $150 dollars. This is why you will also see more people looking to flexible spending accounts to help cover these increasingly higher out of pocket health care costs.
In the rapidly changing world of healthcare, cost containment is important. We understand you want to minimize your out of pocket costs as much as possible as well. But we want you to know that becoming an out of network provider with some insurance companies is a decision made in order to make sure we don’t compromise the quality of care you receive in the name of easy reimbursement. Delivering the highest quality care takes time and commitment to excellence, and that’s where we cannot compromise.
Understanding Insurance Coverage for Physical Therapy
Here at Performance PT, we put our primary focus on your individual care. That’s why we have individual exam and treatment rooms, and make sure our Physical Therapists and aides supervise your exercises and treatment, to make sure you are getting the most out of each appointment.
This attention to detail is what sets us apart from many other practices, but it also requires the extra investment in time and money to deliver the best care possible.
As a result, we have become an out-of-network provider for several insurance companies, including Aetna. As they seek to lower the cost of service and reimbursement to providers, they often negotiate low reimbursement rates, and we know we would have to start cutting corners in order to deliver care at those reimbursement rates. As a result, we have become “out of network” providers, meaning you can still see us, and we can still accept your insurance, but you will get a bill for the balance of the un-reimbursed costs, which will vary depending on your insurance carrier.

We currently are in-network for the following insurance coverage:
We are proud to be in-network with most major insurance providers, including:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS)
- Independence Personal Choice
- Medicare (Traditional & Railroad)
- Workers’ Compensation Plans
- Motor Vehicle Accident Claims
- AmeriHealth Caritas Delaware
- Delaware Traditional Medicaid
- Tricare
- Highmark Healthoptions
Out-of-Network? You May Still Have Great Coverage!
We are out-of-network for some plans, such as Aetna and Cigna, but many of our patients find that their out-of-network costs are similar to in-network coverage. We’re happy to verify your benefits and help you understand your options!
No Insurance? We Have Affordable Cash-Pay Options!
If you prefer to pay out of pocket or don’t have insurance coverage, we offer affordable self-pay rates to ensure you can still receive expert care without financial stress.
