Nutrition Tip for January 2009
Shopping Savvy at the Supermarket
It's already mid January and I'm sure many of you started off the new year tackling your resolutions with vigor. Most goals tend to be health oriented and focus on changing dietary habits or stepping up on the exercise. Unfortunately, in this difficult economy, a lot of people will cut their gym memberships and buy cheaper, unhealthy food. They will start taking half their medicine and skipping out on doctor visits. This, however, is definitely the wrong direction to go! Being healthy is key to getting you through these tough times. Ultimately if you start exercising less, eating unhealthy meals and skipping your medicines, you'll find yourself paying more money because you end up getting sick from leading an unhealthy lifestyle. Cut back on your cable bill (do you really need 100 channels?), eat out one less day a week or borrow books from the library instead of buying them. Whatever you do, don't skimp on your health!
I have put together a great way for you to still stay on track with your goal of eating more healthfully without having to break the bank. Below I give information about how you can learn lots of great ways to shop savvy at the grocery store. Keep in mind, these tours do not take the place of individual nutrition counseling, but they sure are a great way to keep your new years resolutions on track while we feel the pinch for a while. Here's to your continued health and happiness!
What is a Supermarket Savvy Tour?
